Protest against Unfounded Allegations against the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Swedish Security Service (SAPO) Report
Considering the annual report of the Swedish Security Service(SAPO) which baselessly and without any factual evidence mentioned the name of the Islamic Republic of Iran as one of the threats against Sweden and made unfounded accusations against Iran the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Stockholm firmly rejects these baseless claims stated in the report and expresses its strong objection regret and dissatisfaction regarding this matter. The Embassy also emphasizes the following points:
- The Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with international norms and regulations, regulates its diplomatic relations with countries around the world and, while respecting all the requirements of bilateral relations with Sweden, tries to develop and strengthen its bilateral relations.
- We believe that presenting unsubstantiated and groundless allegations by an official Swedish governmental institution against another country is an irresponsible act and contrary to the expected diplomatic conduct.
- We firmly ask the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden to refrain from disseminating inaccurate information and provocative statements against the Islamic Republic of Iran and to provide the necessary assistance to make the proper alignment of bilateral relations.
