The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sweden strongly rejects media allegations suggesting any connection between criminal groups and the Islamic Republic of Iran in relation to unlawful activities in Sweden, emphasizing that Iran itself is among the principal victims of both state-sponsored and non-state-sponsored terrorism, as well as organized criminal gangs. Accordingly, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been at the forefront of the fight against terrorism and such crimes.
On several previous occasions when similar allegations have been raised, the Islamic Republic of Iran has requested that any available evidence or documentation supporting such claims be shared through appropriate channels for examination. To date, no evidence has been presented.
The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that deep and strong relations with the Government of Sweden can be built on the basis of mutual respect, shared interests, and constructive cooperation.
It is also expected that terrorist groups responsible for the deaths of thousands of Iranian citizens should not be allowed to operate or find safe haven in Sweden.
Making baseless media allegations does not contribute to eliminating such dangerous phenomena in any country. We believe that combating terrorism and criminal gangs cannot be achieved through projection or misdirection, and that the root causes of these issues must instead be addressed.
